Ralf Klinkenberg initiated the open source data mining project RapidMiner in 2001 and is one of the two co-founders and Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) of Rapid-I, the open source business intelligence and data mining solution and service provider behind RapidMiner.
He studied computer science and business management with focus on data mining at University of Dortmund in Germany and University of Missouri-Rolla in the USA. Ralf Klinkenberg holds masters degrees from both universities and he also extended his data mining expertise working as researcher at both universities.
He has more than 15 years of experience in data mining, text mining, and predictive analytics and extensive experience in project management and consulting for large, small, and medium companies in many industries, including automotive, aviation, transport, telecommunication, retail, finance, banking, insurance, manufacturing, online market research, and internet. RapidMiner (formerly Rapid-I) won the Open Source Business Award 2008 for its world-leading open source data mining solution RapidMiner.
