Technological University Dublin runs a 2 year part-time online
MSc in Computing in Applied Data Science and Analytics.
Lectures are delivered live, two evenings a week, using Adobe Connect's online classroom environment which facilitates live delivery of lectures, VoIP for lecturers and students, screen sharing, web cam, file sharing, breakout rooms for group discussions, whiteboard, question and answer sessions and other facilities. This, coupled with lecture recordings and other learning resources being made available through Moodle, our Virtual Learning Environment, provides a truly flexible learning environment for all participants. Course modules are assessed through continuous assessment only, allowing students not resident in Ireland to attend the course.
The programme has been designed in collaboration with industry partners. Graduates from our MSc will be equipped for employment in sectors where data science and big data analytics is a critical component, such as the insurance, retail, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, business, travel, telecommunication, government, and intelligence sectors.
Data Analytics is one of the fastest growing areas of IT, across a variety of organizations and industries, and remains mission critical for businesses as it turns information into an asset for deriving insight and making decisions. This reflects the need for companies to do business more smartly, enabled by business intelligence.
